Jeff Fox for Vista City Council District 2

“Jeff Fox is the right person, stepping up at the right time to lead Vista’s District 2. As a lifelong north county resident, Business Owner, & current Vista Home Owner, Jeff brings a balanced approached and fresh perspective to this office. He and his wife Mina have shown me they are all about helping people through this platform, which aligns with my “people over politics” approach to governance. I’m excited to finish my term, and eagerly anticipating the new landscape of our City Council and all they’ll accomplish for Vista” – Current District 2 City Council Member, Joe Green

About Me

I moved to Vista when I was 2 years old, attended Noah’s Ark Preschool, Lake Elementary, Tri-City Christian, and Rancho Buena Vista High School, and had the privilege of watching my City evolve over the last 30+ years. I am a local small business owner that works in both the Film and the Digital Marketing industries out of the Film Hub in Downtown Vista.

Vista has always been my home and I look forward to continue working to make it the best city it can be.

My Priorities

Public Safety

Our residents deserve to feel safe in their own community. However, Vista has one of the highest violent crime rates in North County, an opioid and homelessness crisis, and retail stores going out of business from shoplifting and vandalization, while also having one of the least Deputy Sheriffs per capita our of all the contract cities.

We need to hire more Deputy Sheriffs and allow them to do what they do best: protect our community.

I am the right candidate to fix this problem and that is why I am endorsed by the Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

Housing / Infrastructure

The 2050 General Plan allows for an additional 50,000 housing units in our City, providing much needed housing options. East Vista Way is a target for this expansion but is in no way prepared to handle this increase, and many people moved to Vista for the “small town feel”.

We need to provide adequate infrastructure and protect our arterial roadways to reduce traffic and allow for this expansion, while protecting our rural areas.

I know how to take a balanced approach to growth, which is why I am endorsed by the San Diego Building Industry Association.

Business Development

I believe small businesses are the backbone of any community, providing a majority of the jobs and things to do for the community. However, anyone driving through certain areas can see the empty retail centers blighting our beautiful city.

We need to protect our current businesses and attract new ones by removing a lot of the red tape and expediting the permitting process.

As a small business owner myself, I am the right person to bring more business to Vista, which is why I am endorsed by the Lincoln Club Business League.
